I often see lightsticks in your gear loadouts, but the best use I have seen on ar15.com is a member's use of them to light his pack after he continued on with his daypack. He returned after dark, and voila, there was his gear, easily marked by the glowing tubes. What do you use them for?

I have used glow-sticks for Lite for many yearshug.gif  Depending on the color you can read by then.  They should help keep your night vision, depending on the color.  Mark a trail.  Lite up an area a way form you. So you can see anything passing  through the glow. They have infrared one as wellhave  There are NO batterys  needed!!!  Great night lites for the kids (don't let them suck on it).
Bad side can not turn off.... They have a chamical that is croucive to nylon, If they get broken. (only happen once and it was open an useing it)hey
If you have one handy it can help you fine a gun or a brighter  lite... It beats being in the dark!!
Would not be without them....hug.gifhehippie.gif

We use them as night-time live fire targets.  When you get a close hit, they fly.  A direct hit is awesome.

They work especially well inside of Tannerite targets.  The glowing mist is rather impressive too....

I use them when the power goes out and I want to sleep, but be able to see to the bathroom (and see the hole I'm aiming at) in the middle of the night, without worrying a candle is going to burn down the house... (I don't need that much light, and neither do the neigbors...)

There also cool to use in caves, so you don't waste your batteries on your flashlight, and it gives the cave an ominous look to it that's pretty cool.  Flares cause too much smoke and so do ripped up shirts on sticks (just ask Rambo)

Glow sticks are great for anything your imagination can think of where you need light.  The green ones are the best...

The miniature ones are great when you are blackout driving. You can carry one in your mouth, without it being seen and open your mouth when you need light for stuff like reading maps.
