I got my 1st M1 two weeks ago and I must say I'm hooked and their is no looking back. I don't even like my M4s and other weapons that much anymore after firing and getting acquainted with it. I already have my sights set on a 2nd and a 3rd. Am I nuts for wanting more of a good thing? How many do you own?

Edit pics added sorry they are crappy but its what I have. Its a H&R serial number range puts it as made in 56 or 57 I think

You own a full auto/burst carbine and you like the Garand better? Don't get carried away. I have a bunch of Garands:

But I would not say that I don't like even my semiauto AR carbines and rifles. Each has it's place.

anyone have a idea ofwhen thecmp will run out?want one but with a possible ban, have been buying or saving to buy "assult rifles"

all these rifles are top notch, but the guy with the one in infront of the ammocrates from the cmp is the shit.looks like a death machine( which is what they were designed to be)

another fefu bed time story( always great, i know)

my cousin use to have a m1 garand nm, not sure how original (looked pretty old and was fun as hell to shoot, been wanting one since i was 12)

anywy,he let one of his friends barrow it (that was also a korea vet)

when the guy was done shooting it he decided to clean it

he gave it back to my cousin, and told him that when he was in the service he didnt remember the gas screw being that hard to remove

my cousin just shook his head, and told him it was a nm, and that the screw was "sealed"

and the moral of this story is....never let people barrow your guns
Link Posted: 9/2/2009 8:06:31 PM EST
I have 10 ish. I think they are a good investment. Buying ammo from CMP makes them cheaper to shoot than many other rifles. No rails to hang stuff on. No mags to stock pile. Good cleaning and a web sling and you are set.

sounds like you have a bad case of garands disease.....sorry to hear

There is a minor problem with the poll. It won't let me select a number and "Not nearly enough".

Damn, I was over 10 for a bit but culled a couple to help a couple guys that were looking to shoot in our local military rifle match. I was originally going to sell one and brought a couple field grades for him to choose from. Both got sold!
