I've always pronounced it:  1.) swāj.

I recently have been hearing people pronounce it as 2.) swag.

So, what do you do?  1 or 2?

From Merriam-Webster.com:

Pronunciation: \ˈswāj, ˈswej
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, ornamental border, from Middle French souage
Date: circa 1812
: a tool used by metalworkers for shaping their work by holding it on the work or the work on it and striking with a hammer or sledge

Now we know...

Swag is a very different word than swage.  English is funny like that, one extra vowel at the end of a word changes its meaning entirely.

Then someone who does swag is a swagger.

Swage is most often pronounced /ˈsweɪdʒ/ (AHD format: swāj).[6][7] Another (less common) pronunciation sometimes heard in the metalworking industries is /ˈswɛdʒ/ (AHD format: swĕj) (perhaps influenced by sledge as in sledgehammer).

Swage = Rhymes with pay.

Ogive= Oh+give

Hornady=  Hornadee

This is the way I pronounce them.  But I could be wrong especially on Hornady it is probably Horn+a+day.

I'll use the sesame street method

Sss   +     wage (pronounced like the word indicating your income)
Sss + wage
S+wage
Swage

It's a racist term, not to be used anymore.
The politically correct way would be....."form fitting".

'WAG' is Wild Assed Guess when referring to estimates, bids, or proposals.

'SWAG' is Stupid Wild Assed Guess, an even less accurate estimate.

Ok ok.  Is it pronounced rodeo or rodayo?  How about either?  The english language is probably the hardest.

SWAG  is Scientific Wild Assed Guess, and generally considered more accurate than a simple WAG
