I don't really see any manufactures mark on it. Just a few random small symbols that are not stamped very clear at all.

I think there is a website...something like mosin-nagant.com or .net. I think they have the different stamps shown. Go there and compare.

see the collectors board at gunboards,,or parralax's... there is a site they havethe linksthere,,its mosin.net or some junk like said above, its either an ishy or tula (if its russian) if its an m44 it could be from a number of different locations

Some were built in the USA by Remington & Westinghouse for the Russians during WW1. The French made some also. They'd be M91s, but they could have been converted to M91-30 or M91-59 (cut down to M38 carbine size) status also.
