Dunno.

They weigh a ton though. Empty.

"Marine Corps" is capitalized.

The one I had was sub MOA with USGI M118LR. I couldn't believe how well it shot. I don't know if they all shot that well but mine did. YMMV

I wouldn't buy a SM. I bought one recently and the op-rod fit very sloppily in the reciever and the there were major radial gouges in the chamber. I was left very unimpressed with SAIs top of the line gun.

I also have a Loaded that didn't have any problems, is plenty accurate, and is a fair bit lighter. I like it alot. Plus it was priced WAY below the SM.

I wouldn't order any M1A. I would only buy if I could see it ahead of time and give it a very thorough inspection.

I know what you're saying. I ordered my NM and I was disappointed when it arrived. The stock looked like it was inletted with a pen knife. The bedding chipped and took a chunck out of the rear tang area of the stock the first time I shot it. I sent it back and after much fuss they replaced the rifle with something suitable. I have an opportunity to by a new SM at a great price but i have not seen it yet.

The SM isn't something that is normally on the shelf and especially in the McMillan stock. It's a nice rifle normally and of coarse anything suspect SAI takes care of a person, but as far as that model goes I cannot comment on production currently.

I built my rifle. It's a M21, but same basic deal. Fun doing it if you have the ability to do so. You really can build a superior rifle the way you want it.
