Just got a box of these for my model 12 savage. Can someone post a picture from their Hornady manual for this bullet. I am getting into using my Hornady oal length gauge. This is an extremely short bullet so is that even necessary or do I load to spec from the manual? I have 10x and h335 to use

The bullet is way to short to chase the lands with.  The rule of thumb is you need at least 1 caliber length of the bullet in the case neck.  In the AR platform and most other similar platforms your COAL for magazine length is 2.26.

You are over thinking the reloading process so young in your career.
Your first goal is to learn to work up a safe accurate and reliable load.  And, with the 223 you can do that with that bullet at magazine or OEM suggest COAL.  Quit making something so easy so hard.

Pick a powder, do case prep, primer, powder with appropriate work up charges....go to range and test them.

Then if nothing works to your expectations.... you can try another powder..... and perhaps primers change.

My thinking would be Varget, H322, N133, RL-10 Benchmark
