Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Hen and Rooster knives

Does anyone have any experience with the current production hen and rooster knives.  I tried to find info on the company and found that it was sold in the 80's.  The knife I'm interested in claims to use German Solingen steel.  I can't find any info on this steel, is it any good and what kind of steel could it be compared to?

I don't know what American or Japanese steel it could be compared to but Solingen steel is considered to be good quality. Boker and Puma knives are Solingen steel, and I'd say Hen & Rooster are comparable.
