I just purchased an Enfield 303 British. It has grease on it and the stock is really dark. What should I use to clean the grease off? Also, What will clean the stock? If the stock stays dark and crappy after cleaning, what should I do? I want to shoot this rifle, not save it for collector value.

Thanks

The drive through car wash will do in pinch.

I use a three tier system. First I with Castrol Super Clean, spray off with carb cleaner. Let dry over night. Then I soak with Wesley's Tire Cleaner, scrub w/scrub brush(put elbo grease in it) and/or tooth brush for the small annoying places, hose off with water, let dry over night.

Cosmo is very difficult to get out, it may take a while.

Note: I wear dish washing rubber gloves when using my method.
