Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Have u used .50 pistol bullets in your .50 BP?

I see some nice looking heavy cast bullets in the Cabella's shooting catalog that I assume are for reloading 50 A&E and 500S&W.  Has any one run anything like that through their .50 black powder.

While I'm asking stupid questions would a 50 BMG projectile fit/seal up enough to run through a 50 BP?

I know I should just get a micrometer but nothing replaceses experience.

I have not shot anything like what you mentioned out of my .50 cal.  There are two many good projectile choices already, including sabots.  I did develop a shot load when I was a teenager for my .44 cap and ball revolver that worked pretty well on venemous snakes.
