Is this mod possible? If so, can someone with experience lend a hand with details?

Doubt the receiver is made to handle it. It's not roller designed, it won't be anything like a real mp5 or sp89 or whatever...

Internally the .22lr and 9mm rifles are completely different. There is no way you could convert it to 9mm.

This.

You'd have an easier time making Rosie "where's my food?" O'Donnell into a skinny super model for Victoria Secrets, IMO. (How's THAT for a mental pic? )

Sure you can. You just need a new barrel, bolt, carrier, receiver, stock set, recoil assembly, and FCG.

Its not possible.

Unless it is hugely overdesigned, no. And it's not, so definitely no.

9mm packs much more of a punch than .22, so converting a 9mm to run .22 would be fairly simple once you had the parts. The weapon would be overbuilt for running .22.

But since the MP5/22 was designed around running .22, it would not be able to handle the forces involved with using 9mm. Even if you somehow made parts to work and somehow got a barrel, the receiver would not handle the strain very well and would probably fail rather quickly.
