I was reloading some "plinking ammo" on my 550 today and thump.  Case stuck in resizing die.  SO start looking for a stuck case remover.  After looking at what comes with the kit, I got to thinking.  I have a tap set, drill bits and some bolts in the garage.  So I put the die in a vise and drill a 7/32 hole and tap with a 1/4-20 tap.  I then use a 1/4 -20 x 1 1/4" long bolt with a washer through a 1/4" drive 7/16 socket to draw the stuck case up into.  Worked like a charm.  Done is less than 5 minutes.  Best part was I saved $$$.

Hope this helps some one else out!!

Lee dies have a built in stuck case remover. I had a stuck case earlier tonight, no drilling required.

It must be 'stuck-case day'.  I stuck a .223 case in my Hornady sizer tonight, too.  I also used a drill bit, tap, and bolt, but I used a big nut(not sure on size, big enough for shell to fit through, small enough to fit on end of die) instead of a wrench.  I've done two cases like that now.

No need for me to buy a stuck case remover.  I've got all the necessary bits around the bench anyways.

Y'all strange.

All i have to do w/ my lee dies is to remove the collet for the pin and give the pin a couple of tapsand everythin falls out.

You fellas need to use better lube or more of it.  I've never stuck a case.

You should never jinx yourself like that.

Yea your right I don't think it got lubed properly.

But be carefully,  on my jump team in the military we had a saying:
"Those who have and those who will"

Besides I thought I had come up with a great solution.  Seems I was out classed.

Yeah, my case that got stuck fell on the floor.  It apparently got a little dirtier than I thought and I didn't clean it off and relube it before attempting to size it.  Don't remember what happened on the first one.

Most of the kits are nothing more than common tools: drill bit, tap, allen wrench, allen head bolt,  and a modified socket type device.  A tap handle is a nice plus to have as well.

There was a recent thread on the RCBS drill bit being made in China and it broke

Most people wont have a tap or a allen head bolt laying around the house so the kits are good for those people
