Bought my first K31 Swiss and M1 Garand (new Wilson 308 bbl) the other week, and took them out with a trusty M96 Swede. After some general learning curve issues and tweaking the M1s sights, all are very capable and pleasant to shoot. I expected more whump from the K31, but the pressure curve seems very shoulder friendly. Way easier than 8mm Turk, and probably better than a M39 on 147gr surp (left at home). Due to other ranges in use for matches, the only one available had the distances unmarked by bulldozer activity that is part of upgrading their long range. 100yds was a best guess. There was a vertical hitch in my stroke today, so I have several groups of 5 which are about 1" wide by 4" tall. No way Swiss GP11, FNM 6.5 and Aussie .308 were all that vertical/varied charges. So I assume when accurate-me shows up at the range I will have 1moa from the K31/GP11 combo and M96/FNM combo (already proven several times), and more like 1.5moa from the Wilson .308 bbld Garand/Aussie combo.
The M1 sights are the best; nice aperture and fine post. Other sights are a general tie. The K31 trigger is simply marvelous; better than any custom I have tried. And the M96 remains an amazing piece for it's vintage.
