I filled out my first Form 4 for a suppressor under my trust, and I'm curious if some of what I did is correct or "the safe approach" if the exact procedure is in question.
I'm using my trust as a transferee for this Form 4, and I completed Sections 13,14 and 15.

-I checked off the selections under 13 and 14, even though  the actual transferee is the trust.  I'm guessing this can't hurt if they assume that the trustee signing is actually whom the question is asked of.

-Even though it's a suppressor, I completed Section 15. I put the trust name down as the "name of transferee", and then signed "My name/ Trustee" under the signature section.


Will I get dinged for this?


In my various researching across the internet, I found several contradictory answers to these questions, so I'd like to hear the hive mind's experiences.

are you purchasing this from an individual or a dealer?

IF buying from a dealer there is no reason why you should be filling out your own F4.  Your dealer should be doing this as part of the sale!  

That said, I've filled out my own F4's before, but that was because I used him as a transfer dealer, he didn't charge much of anything for the fees, and I know my way around NFA a little better than the dealer did.

That's what I'm doing. He's giving me a very,very reasonable transfer fee, and is a fellow arfcommer.

13 and 14 no..  I do fill out 15 as I was instructed to do so for my trust.

13/14/15 do not need to be filled out for a silencer. Will not hurt if you do.
