Thinking about doing a Form 1 suppressor but here is my question... I can't weld, so would having some shop do the welding for me be illegal? In other words, do I have to self perform all the work on a form 1 can? because the last thing I want to do is get a shop and myself in trouble for assisting me with making a suppressor... I've searched for this information before and couldn't find anything so I figured I'd ask here?

This advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.  IMHO, like anything else done to a Title II item, if you brought the parts to a local welder and had him weld it up while you stood there, you'd be fine.  Just like letting a buddy shoot your gun with the suppressor on it, as long as you are there so that the NFA item is "under your control", I see no problem.  If you dropped the register tube off with the welder or handed your gun with the suppressor to your buddy for the weekend, then there would be a problem.
