A 1954 Fabrique National Israeli 98k
Have been looking for one for sometime now, this one kind of fell in my lap....

Very nice, usually when I see a thread title like yours I don't open it because I almost always see a Mosin Nagant.

Very true, I own two and they are great rifles. As far as collecting the MN is probably one of the best starter rifles out there.

Looks to be much better than most of the Israeli Mausers I've seen. Nice score!

The stock is kinda beat up, but that is to be expected. The bore is a bit dark but not real bad. Hopefully I can get out in the near future and put some rounds through it to see how it shoots at a distance. I picked this one over a War dated German 98, I hope I made the right decision.

That first C&R purchase is always a special one. Mine was one of the Enfield No5Mk1's that SOG was selling for $169 several years ago. Yours looks good, post more pics.

I'd love to get one for the history and irony behind them...but all the ones I have found look like shit and have sewer pipes for barrels
