Legaly, what part is the "receiver" for the FS2000? I have found the serial number in the following locations.

Stamped on the top of the barrel between the gas system and flash hider. (I hope this is not it!)

Engraved on the left front flat of teh top rail/ejection tube. (Maybe)

Printed with gray ink/paint on the left side of the main stock at the rear sight base. (don't think this is it)

On a sticker on the bottom left side of the main stock. (very unlikely)

I want to modify things but don't want to get into trouble.

The serial number and identifying markings must be engraved or stamped on the barrel or frame of the weapon.

Uhh....that's not "painted" it's melted into the plastic of the receiver.

My understanding is that this is the legal serial number....so don't break it.
