Is there any way to determine production year from the serial number on an FS2000?

i believe it's like this

the first ones were in the 4-5000's (green If i recall)
then the first black tacticals were 6000's
the next gen ones were the 25000's
then the 26-27000's
the optic/standards are in the 35-37000's
and the newest gen tacticals are in the 50000's i believe

There are different generations? I have one of the black tacticals from the 1st run. What has changed since?

They went from black to grey to white hammer packs
Different spring tensions in the hammer packs, lack of or existence of a firing pin spring, and I've also noticed in the 50k series of tacticals there seems to be a crossbar re-enforcement on the locking teeth in the charging handle

There is nothing other than polymer date stamps and the differences mentioned earlier

Ahh so they finally made a fix for the charging handle thing? I wonder if this is a mod FN could do if I sent the gun in to them?

FNHKSIG

I inspected 6 different 50,000 series fs2000s and they appeared to have that crossbar between the teeth in the main body of the charging handle..

Mine broke this way, but i gave read of multiple breakages of the "hook" where you rest your fingers when you pull it rearword. There did not appear to be any fix for this.

There are at least a couple people including judochop, IIRC, working on a new handle
