Any FG42s floating around in the US?
Any semi-auto versions or clones?
I think I'd want a new production FG42 clone more than a STG44 clone, although it'd be a close decision

I don't think so. Again, I think the cost of tooling up for one of these would cost too much compard to how many they would sell.

ETA: We need some rich guy like Bill Gates or Donald Trump who is into guns to just get everything started for the hell of it.

But they'd be a hoot in .308.

There are a few transferables in the US.

Check out-
www.fg42.net/index.html

They make repro parts. They actually list a receiver for the T1, but sure its a post sample.
His parts are expensive, but when you figure what a real FG42 goes for, its chump change.

Last I heard, the magazines alone go for over $1000

I'd love to have a semi auto version, but it's not gonna happen.

Probably a bit more now.. I have a "Price guide" that lists them for $40K, but at the same time a bringback AK is like $7500..

Even with out any bans they are very rare and would still fetch a huge price.

There is a guy on this board who owns one. We'll see if he drops by this thread.
