I have always been a chest rig guy. Thinking of picking up a Banshee (specific PC by name isn't important).

What goes in it?

Plates?

Both?

Sorry for the stupid question but I'm new to all this PC stuff.

It's meant to carry rifle plates but some rifle plates are designed to be used in conjunction with soft armor panels to reach their full protection rating. Some are designed to be standalone with no soft armor. Whichever you decide to purchase the vendor you buy from should make it clear in the decription whether or not soft armor is required.

If you are not anticipating rifle threats you can just wear soft armor panels but it would offer less coverage from pistols than a full Level IIIa vest. I have the carrier fitted with soft armor only for now until I get around to purchasing rifle plates.

This is going to differ by user and experience, but I have the banshee soft armor package along with TAP III Gamma plates in mine.

I just ordered the Banshee PC rig from AR500 Armor. The Banshee seems to be well received around here as do the AR500 plates. I'm sure I could have saved a few bucks shopping around but the AR500 site had a nice PC package for a decent price. The only catch is the wait times (8-10 weeks). Apparently there's been a big demand for tactical armor lately.
