Hey everyone. I am new to muzzleloaders, but am interested in them. Hunting season opens up about a month earlier for muzzleloaders, and it would be helpful for me to be able to use them.
My father got a cva muzzleloaders about 20 years ago before we moved with the intention of black powder hunting, but it has never been shot and he told me I could use it.

It is a cva eclipse hunter 50 cal 1:32 twist. What would be a safe load to start out with? I have some 300 grain projectiles that he gave me with it, but that is all.
And I am comfortable with ammunition components. I have been reloading for several years now, just never made the jump over to black powder. Any information would be helpful!

Thanks
