I need the program for my first NFA trust. I doubt there is very much difference between the '08 version and the '06 version. Is the newest version worth 3 times the price of the older version? Can the older version do what I need it to do? To answer your next two questions; yes, I am spending $565 on a supressor and I'm trying to save $30 on the software. Yes, I am a cheap SOB. MJD

As Willmaker will set-up your trust by your state of residence, I would recommend the most current version. State laws change and/or are added every year.

I've heard the NFA attorney's are now reviewing these for legitimacy.

+1. Use the most recent version. I did and it worked fine.

It's $50 direct from the NOLO website. I paid the $50 and downloaded the software when I did my trust. It was Willmaker 2007 Plus at the time. Once you register the software, it updates every so often to keep it up to date. So even if you have 2006, if you have the auto updater turned on it should give you all the current updates with changes to any of the state laws etc.

The main drawback of the current version that I have seen, is that it doesn't allow you to name your trust whatever you want (such as BigBoom Trust), it automatically uses the full name of the primary trust holder. You can edit the document in an external program after creating it, but it's a pain.
