Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Diameter of M4 handguards vs. CAR?

Anyone know the diameters of the M4 and CAR handguards?  I'd like to get a set of the green M4 handguards but I've got an ARMS #38ex and I've heard they won't clear the M4s.  If the clearance problem is just a little bit, I could consider carving on the upper handguard enough for the sight rail to fit.
