I saw a DPMS lower in a shop today (actually entire rifel) does DPMS have something else they stamp on the lower...it said DPMS and something else..like another company name..I can't remember it. If anyone has a pic of a DPMS lower that shows this I would love to see it...or explain it to me.

The lower sorta' looked cheaply made...is this the way all DPMS lowers look? It was a light black almost gray color.

Thanks in advance

It might have been one of the cast lowers.

I'll try and get a pic up later, or maybe you could try: www.dpmsinc.com.

Maybe it said "Pine Tree Casting" or something close to that? I think DPMS cast receivers were made by "Pine Tree" which is the casting division of Ruger.

it did not say pine tree casting....it was:

____________ arms (i think)

I am sure it was not Panther Arms!

none of the pics I could find on the DPMS web page were close enough or detailed.

Here are 2 pics of my DPMS lower, nothing extra on it.

Mine is a forged post ban.

Edit: I should add that I bought this about 6 weeks ago and it was delivered to the dealer the day I bought it, or so he says. The markings to the right of the bolt release say:

Becker MN

On the magazine well:

CAL. 223-5.56
MOD: A-15

Mine says DPMS and under that is Panther Arms. No other company name appears on it anywhere. Mine is recent production and looks as good or better than my Oly and friends Bushy.

Take a pic and post it if you do.

My DPMS lowers look like Macloud's and they were manufactured in 1998. They are black teflon coated. If the lower you saw was a gray color, it might be stainless steel with no black teflon coating.
