In another thread a point was brought up that an consignor/auction house would never unknowing sell a rare piece without easily Googling for it's rarity and listing it as such.  It would ordinarily make sense, that they would like to maximize profit since they are getting paid on % basis, but it is very much every day occurrence that these sellers do not and many rare pieces are going at hammer strike for fraction of their true value.  Big auction houses like Rock Island Auctions Co and Echoes of Glory International are by far the worst "offenders".....and thus offer some of the best opportunities for those with keen eye.

Case in point are the below two.

Excellent Condition, Non-Import, Non-Germanized, Factory Original Czech VZ-24 8mm Mauser:

Finish Captured, Factory Original 1938 Tula M91/30 Mosin:

There are couple more nice pieces current "flying below the radar"that I will post once the auctions have been completed.

My '41 Izhevsk 91/30 Finnish capture is in much better shape than that so I'd be interested to see what it will bring.....Not that my rifle is going anywhere.

I have 1941 Izhevsk SA similar to yours, just a little better condition still. Was offered $600+ postage for it (still have it as well).
