Will a .22 cleaning kit work with .223? i've got my bro to clean my rifle all the time and he said its time for me to do it on my own now lol  I can't find any .223 cleaning kits like at walmart or anything so I was wondering if a .22 lr kit would work

Have you tried an OTIS Cleaning Kit

Yes, a 22 cleaning kit will work for your .223

Yes it will. At first I got the Hoppes .22 cleaning kit, but it was kind of "shaky" the way it screwed together and I was afraid that it might damage my barrel. Get a GI kit (fits in stock) with chamber brush, feels nice and solid.
Cost is about $15 online, I think I got mine at cheaperthandirt.com, but I forget.

I would suggest against a 'kit.'  Buy a quality one piece cleaning rod, stainless steel of a Dewey coated one. Also buy a chamber guide if you do not have one.  The only thing I use a multi piece cleaning rod for is the GI one that is in the buttstock of an AR for an emergency.

Go with what CaptRhodes suggests. When I got my AR (I presume that's what you're cleaning) I bought a .223 brush and already had an aluminum rod set I've been using for years on all my other rifles, including the .22s. The military brush fits SO tightly in my AR that the rod flexed quite a bit and I need Jack Shit and a come-along to get it through the barrel. The military cleaning kit comes with a sectional STEEL rod that doesn't flex much and some other goodies you'l find useful. The rod also fits inside the stock, which is very useful in case you get a FTE while out shooting,

Make sure you get a breech guide for your PSS also.
