I am going to buy a k31 tomorrow, and I just thought of something... What size cleaning rod and patches do you guys use? Since I know they aren't going to sell stuff specificially for k31s at the sporting goods store, is there a common caliber that is close enough to work?? Like I use .30 cal rifle stuff for cleaning my ak and sks... What works with the k31?? .30-06?

.30 cal. Make sure you have a good rod or rope to clean from the chamber end. And post pics if you can. Enjoy!

Like the others have said it is .30 caliber. In fact when handloading for the 7.5x55 we use .308 bullets.
Make sure you disassemble the bolt and clean thoroughly like with any other milsurp, then just clean normally.

How well do those cycle?? 7.62x51mm is pretty damn close and alot easier to find

When speaking of reloading 308 he was talking about bullet diameter. Do not load 7.62x51 in a k31 it will not work out well.

Take the bolt out and MAKE SURE that it is complete, and the striker is not damaged......easy to do.
