The thread about coachguns reminded me of the Chinese copies of the Model '97 that have become available. The 20" barreled version looks pretty neat as a self-defense gun that can also be used in cowboy-action competition. Does anybody have any experience with these shotguns?

No, but Gun Tests likes it. I wouldn't buy it because it is Chinese and I would rather have an old gun made in U.S. with some real history behind it rather than some new gun made by commie slave labor.

But that's just me . . .

I saw the topic and thought there were gonna be Chinese Models. Damn Disappointed again

No experience, but I did look at one recently (I think at Green Top in Ashland). It looked rather sloppily finished. It certainly wouldn’t pass for a real Winchester.
