Gentlemen,

Lets see how many of you try this one:

Ordnance ordered a change in the name for the M1 Garand Rifle.
The old name was "U.S. SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLE, CALIBER .30 M1"
To this "Rifle, U. S. Caliber, .30 M1"

I needed TWO answers on this one. First when did this change go into effect on all paper work ? When did it go into effect on the stamping of the Receiver ?

Best to all of you and yours Gentlemen, on this Christmas Season.
May many Garands flow to you all in the New Year

My sites with data and books and CD for sale. They also have Ordnance Data files posted there.
