I'd just go to your dept and have someone sign the card for you. You can print yourself, just do it in the presence of the signing officer.

Anyone can print themselves. You don't have to be an 'official' anything. My last three stamps were approved with me as the 'official taking prints'. My local PD charges $20.00 per set, which is the main reason I print myself.
In the 'reason fingerprinted' box I always write "NFA Applicant". |

If you print yourself you're the official taking the prints.
Having a piece of glass, the roller and fingerprint ink will greatly increase your success for those doing it at home. Kharn |

Done at least a dozen transfer printing myself. Bought one of thoes ceramic porelon pads and have yet to have a set rejected.
Just put your name as the person taking the prints. Save money but for me it was the time savings of having to go to the Sheriff's office and wait for somebody to print me. James |

Thanks Yes. I've been fingerprinting myself for 10 years. All of my NFA forms were signed by me in both places. My co-workers usually look at me funny when they see me printing myself in the booking room. ( Jealous because they know what I'm going to get ) I put NFA in the reason area. Otherwise leave it blank. Only the ORI needs to be completed so the printcards end up in the right place. |

On my last 12 or so, I have left the "Official taking" box blank. Never caused a hiccup. Leaving eye color off did, however...
