Looks good from the exterior. Any idea what the throat erosion gauges? A friend of mine just got his and it gauged a 7.

No idea. I'll need to bribe someone local with guages..........or maybe I don't want to know.

I got mine too. Yours looks a lot better then mine. I'm getting some denatured alcohol to go after the cosmoline and I need to get some bedding material for the handguards, they both have cracks. All in all I'm happy as heck. The barrel is definately worn.

You need 2 more so the stacking swivel works.

God I love those rifles.

ETA: My second from the CMP was soaked in cosmo. One trip thru the Dishwasher on high heat pot scrubber and taken out before the dry cycle fixed it right up.

Verrrry sweet. Wood actually looks pretty good, better than it is described on CMP's web site. Even if it it does gage high on the throat or muzzle, shoot it and see what she does. You can still get barrels for it if you want a tack driver. BTW, CMP just charged my card so mine should be in next week. I hope it looks as good as yours. Congrats

Looks good! It won't be your last; ask me how I know.

I scrubbed down stock of the field grade I got with denatured alcohol. took some time but all the crap came out. I've got it sanded and I'm waiting on a decent day to start on with the tung oil. I should probably shim the reviever, there is a bit of play in it. Other then that I cannot wait to take it to the range.
