From CMP sales page
M1 Garand, Service Grade HRA (Harrington & Richardson) Special.
Allow 30-60 days for delivery.
HRA collector grade metal in excellent almost new condition. Walnut stocks and handguards and associated hardware are new manufacture. NOT original HRA manufacture.

They are Service Grade Specials and have some new parts in them

Orest had been saying there would be price increases with the new year.

I see the above poster was right. Service Grade Specials being the only SG's available ATM. I expect the prices will have gone up on straight SG's when they become available again. Not that big a deal for me as I am only looking for a SG IHC to round out my Big 4. I already expect to pay through the nose for one of them.

Must be fairly recently.  I got two service grade Winny's at $795 / each when I was at the North Store in May '11.  I did notice the website has them listed as "Service Special" for HRA and Springfield.  These were really nice guns when I saw them in may, and basically were just as nice as collector grade, just had the repro CMP orange birch stocks on them.  The rest of the guns were more or less perfect.

In fact, I bought a winchester that had a very nice HRA stock with 1/2" DAS on it.  Packed with cosmoline.  On the rack next to them was a nice Sepecial HRA with LMR barrel but the orange stock.  Almost makes a guy wonder if they took the stock off that HRA and put it on my Winny.  It was the correct stock for the HRA, and had the same pink cosmoline caked all over it...

When the actual service grades return they are not going to be priced that high.

No time to look now, but Orest was quoted as saying they intend to keep the price increase in line with inflation since the last increase.

Thats why I got my one and only last year, been told there was going to be a price increase so I saved my pennies and am glad I did, it's a mostly correct HRA and it's something I can pass to my son.

Order up guys, they aren't making any more, and @ $625 they are still a smokin' deal

IIRC they were last at $595.

Through the years I've paid $500, $550, and $595 for SA and HRA service grades.

A $30 increase isn't too bad.  They used to have some really nice deals there but they're now creeping up there as far as how I value them.  Then again so is a good domestically produced bolt rifle that is above the economy grade versions.

Damn I'm getting old and complaining again.

I got the email yesterday stating that there is approximately 2000 service grades in stock... how long do you think that would take them to sell out of..

That's 2000 SG's ready now... the armorers didn't stop prepping the SG's for sale.

There will be more.  2000 is all they have unpacked and graded at this time.  CMP will run out someday, but that day isn't here.
