A friend of mine got some of this ammo and it keeps sticking in his older model .22 bolt action.

I don't know the exact model but its one of those you can fire .22 short also.

The gun fires regular .22 just fine... Any one ever heard of this? I guess it's just cause it low powered.

Really low velocity ammo can get stuck in long barrels.

I have had Super Colibri get stuck before.

Read the box.  It probably states that it shouldn't be shot from rifles.  In order for it to be quiet, it must be low powered.

I kill squirrels in my yard all the time using CCI Quiet 22 out of an ancient bolt rifle with a barrel that has got to be at least 28 inches long and I've never had one stick. Odd.

Maybe excessive leading in the bore?

I thought of this too. Has it been cleaned recently?

He says the barrel is clean as he cleaned it very well when he bought it.

The gun is a Mossberg 321.

He thinks it's the twist rate...

I have no idea.

Clean better. I am betting it's residual leading.

In the olden days the chamber was plugged then a bit of mercury was poured in the barrel... then the muzzle plugged  and the rifle tipped muzzle then chamber end up several times. The mercury would flow under the lead.

Of course that is now seen as a hazardous substance and too hazardous to even attempt!

How would that clean anything or remove the lead?

The mercury is heavy and will find a path to get under the surface between the steel and the lead. I once saw a thermometer broken onto a new metal TV tray (a metal tray us baby boomer sat on out laps to watch B&W TV) After rolling back and forth a few times it rolled under the paint and as it rolled about as the tray was tipped and teetered it continued to lift the paint from the tray,

Though mercury is not quite as heavy as lead, it is more dense. It works under the lead quickly.

Mercury dissolves lead, it used to be commonly used to clean lead out of barrels because of that.

Yours may have a loose or larger bore than the OP's

I shoot CCI quiet out of a Savage MKII cut down to 17" and threaded for a can.  Never had a problem with a stuck bullet.  It's QUIET with a can.  I can snap my fingers louder than that.

See if you guys can upgrade your extractors maybe it can claw them out? I did this with my 1022 and now i can shoot many different rounds that once got stuck in the chamber.

The bullets are getting stuck in the barrel, not the cases getting stuck in the chamber.
