Does anyone know just how these come off?

Are they blind pinned or soldered? Are there threads under it?

Wanting to upgrade to the proper brake.

BTW, it is an INCH gun.

They are pinned, pin is cut and welded, and finally smoothed over before finishing. I had a hell of a time getting mine off and ended up damaging the threads. Go very very slow when you're doing it. The basic procedure is to use a dremmel to cut a groove on two opposite sides of the break. Then use a chisel and hammer to split it apart. If you are lucky and can locate the pinhole, some have been able to just dremmel around the pin and pull it out with pliers. Good luck!

You'll find the pin at the 6 o'clock position at the bottom of the brake. I had a hell of a time with mine because the pin had partially entered the bore. If you look down the bore from the muzzle and you can see a slight indentation near the muzzle into the bore, you're screwed. Ended up sending mine off to CMP Armory to remove one inch from the barrel, crown and thread.
