Why would you want to with such a fine rifle? These things are made to shoot accuratly not blow a bunch of lead down range. Bump the Ak's, not the M1a's

It's yours, hell bump it til it glows.Make the stock catch fire. But we want pictures. Bumping isn't even nearly my thing but it is a ten or eleven pound 7.62 gas gun, so it's not likely to get away from you. Unless you're like a hundred pound waif or something. I don't know, the M1A might turn out to be one of those rifles you hear about that just doesn't bump well.

And even though I like to try to hit my target with every shot, the inclusion of a certain few parts on the real M14s does make me think that the designers intended at least some of them to "blow a bunch of lead down range."

Life,Liberty,Etc. has a video of bumpiring various weapons including a Garand. Not quite an M14 but close.

Ya think? Any idea why the military switched to the AR? Partly because a M14 wasn't controllable in FA mode?

The window licker who invented bumping should be flogged.

On New Years Day a bunch of us watched CavVet bump a clip through his Garand. Bang x8, TING! Oughta be possible with an M1A.

If you really think you're gonna even approach the 750 rpm cyclic rate of a full auto M14 by bumping, you're silly. Having fired a dealer sample Norinco, I know what you're referring to.But true full auto and bumpfiring are night and day, apples and oranges. With most bumping done from the hip, I wouldn't expect a controllability problem with a 14 clone.

And with a bit of thought,I'll second H20Man's idea. I want video as well.

I'll post a video as soon as I pony up for the gun and get a digital camcorder

BTW, I want one bad.(the M1A) Any better-than-average deals lately?

I bumped the hell out of my standard M1A. no videos but other ar15.commers
have been there. i had the stock smokin. have no problem controlling it at all.

guns are made to be fired... cars are made to be driven....
ive beat the day lights out of that rifle. and it still shoots 1 1/2 - 2 '' groups. and gauges
under 1 on the throat. 12,000 rounds later...
so shoot em up if ya got em.... and bump hard !!!!!!

My SOCOM bumps like crazy. CAUTION, not for everyone. I'm a BIG guy and its a handfull. Only for a shooter with lots of practice under there belt.

Well, I've heard that some guys could handle it on FA. I don't think I could but I sure as heck wouldn't mind seeing it. Or trying it. Some must be forgetting it used to have a fun switch. Albeit, I know they didn't use it much. AR15KittyKat says double taps aren't much harder to pull off with his super tactical with that new fangled stock, M1a than his AR.
