I have a 1050 on the way. I need to extend the reloading bench to accommodate it. However, my bench is higher than I have seen most build (42"). It's perfect with my Hornady progressive with a short ergo handle.

Anyone have the standard 1050 handle to bench measurement? I don't want it to be above my shoulder.

Thanks.

What may be more important than the height fully raised is the height at which the sizing die begins to engage a case (say a tall 30-06 case).  That is where you need to apply some force to the handle.

Of course, your arm has weight and you have to lift that weight to grab the handle.  The height of your chair/stool can help with that.

I actually stand when reloading. I guess what I really need to know is the highest point the handle reaches from the bench as I go through the motion. Raising above the shoulder can't be good.

Not in the loading room, however the handle is adjustable. Unlike the 5 or 650's you need to allow more room for the handle's down stroke, the press sits closer to the edge of the bench. I didn't pay attention and had to use a 1/2 round file to get that extra clearance.
