Anyone know a good custom gunsmith who works on Browning BARs?  I am wanting to create a long distance precision fire .300 WinMag rifle out of one.  It seems like the Army messed with them a while back, but I don't remember hearing any outcome.

If anyone has any thoughts about why I should avoid the BAR, I would love to hear them as well.

It just seems like if I did it right, it would be one badass rifle...

A company called Arms Tech Ltd. made one called the "Interdiction Rifle".
Totally reworked and expensive at about $4000.00
Don't know if they still do this or how to find out about it.
Best I could do at the time was tweak my BAR MkII in 7mm Rem.Mag.
Works for me.  It's my nicest rifle, and accurate, too.

Check out the gunsmithing ads in Shotgun News and Gunlist for some guys in Arnold, Mo. who used to work for Browning but have now started their own shop.  They should know as much as anyone.
