1901 Marlin Model 1894 in 25-20. I picked it up for $500 and the bore is in excellent condition. Can't wait to shoot it.

Yeah, guy didn't want it anymore, I was happy to pay him cash.

I asked today about the peep sight, he said that was a factory original...I'll still get pictures of it and show you guys.

The wear patterns indicate that the sight is not factory original unless it was taken off and put in a box for 50-70 years, then put back on.

Makes sense... just an old Marble's sight that was put on the gun recently. In the end, it doesn't matter to me one bit. I may end up putting that sight on another gun anyway.

EDIT: Under the sight the metal isn't 'fresh' or anything, it has the same finish ware as the rest of the gun so the sight was put on recently,

Very nice rifle, my dad had one that was a take down model and it was a great shooting small bore. I have been wanting one in .32-20 to go with a 1902 Col SAA.

A definite sumgai deal! That rifle looks like it hasn't been shot much. Now you'll have to find a load that it likes. Mine likes the 85gr Meister RNFP over some 4227. I shoot it enough that I bought an LNL AP just to feed it. Stock up on brass when you can find it. Availability is sporadic on this caliber, and Starline doesn't make any.
