I put a Jungle Carbine on Lay-a-way today at a local gunshop. It's a 10/45 Fazakerley. In the end of the day, I'm paying $239 + tax for it (it was tagged $249). The bore looks excellent, as does the stock (there is a slight fit issue with the handguard, but it's oversized rather than undersized). The reciever finish is also very good. The flash hider/bayonet lug is in excellent condition. The paint on the barrel could be in better shape, it's worn (maybe 60% barrel finish). I think I got a good buy on it. In December I passed up a Golden State Jungle carbine clone that was $199- but for a few dollars more, I'm getting what I'm sure is the real thing.

ETA: The bolt and reciever serial numbers match.

Guess I have an even bigger reason to reload .303 now

We will have to wait until he gets it off lay-a-way. Until then here is a group of my Enfields with a JC at the bottom. This is one of the SOG $169 Jungle Carbines from several years ago. Above it are '39 BSA No1Mk3, a '42 Lithgow No1Mk3 and a '43 BSA No4Mk1

I also have a '43 Savage No4Mk1 and a Ishapore .308
Maybe I will find a decent Longbranch and a Long Lee someday to round things out.

JAD,

that is a good price for a JC these days. I look forward to seeing it.

Two something is dirt cheap for a JC. I got mine for $75 back in 1980. I think that's about $2000 in todays's dollars .

SOG did a number on the resale prices of these. Seems like everyone still remembers SOG selling them for $160.
