Looking for surplus and soft point 54R ammo to run through a couple of 91/30s I have. Suggestions? MGS apparently has Brown Bear 203grn soft point.

Any and all mil-surp in that caliber should be considered corrosive. I don't know of any that I've ever heard of that wasn't. Sportsman's Guide has Wolf Premier that are soft points for about $10/20, and Cheaper than Dirt has S&B SP for about the same price.

dar48 is correct . . .

all surplus will be corrosive.

I picked up a couple case of the surplus Polish ammo a few weeks ago for only $65 per case (880 rounds). Seems to be pretty good stuff.

The "heavy ball" rounds (198 grain) can really thump the old shoulder ! I like shooting the 148-150 grain ball.

For overall general shooting fun the Polish, or Albanian, will do just fine . . . .

One of mine seems to like the hungarian yellow tip the best, shoots POA and its pretty accurate (could hit a 10" plate at 200 yds. The other can't hit anything with any ammo, which makes me think there is something wrong with it
