I need two, to go on the Express receivers that I'm riotizing. Not sure I want to go with the Mossberg-made barrels - I like my Mossy 500, but I've heard mixed reviews about their 870 barrels.

870 Accessories, including barrels

The Mossberg 870 barrel is on the first page, and the Remington one is on like page 5-6 somewhere around there.  I bought mine from there, best price around $99

You got a Remington barrel or a Mossy? They specify Mossy on the $99 (now that I take the time to read) barrel.

If it is Mossy, I take it you're satisfied?

I have a Remington 870 with the Mossberg 18" barrel

I like it works great for me, I mean a barrel is a barrel for a shotgun, It's Cylinder bore so....

The finish on it I don't care for but I'm gonna be doing a color combo on my gun soon so I don't really care.  I would prefer something of a matte black or parkenized finish.  The finish is a typical blue finish.

I have no complaints and the price tag was great in my mind.

I got one from Ultimate Outdoors for $113.00 with shipping. (Remington Factory #4620. 18" bead sight CYL bore). Best of all they are in your home state of Tejas. Here is a link- www.ultout.com/remingtonarms-extrabarrels&choketubes.htm . The barrel is about 3/4 the way down the page. They are showing a quantity of MAX (whatever the hell that means). Best price I've found on the net. Hope this helps!

Mark @ D&R has always had a better price on Remington barrels than anywhere else I have looked. I actually found him almost by accident at GunBroker. He doesn't say much in emails; it's better to call."

Sure wish they'd make those 18" barrels with rem-chokes.  That way you could double its use for turkey hunting, etc.

I was thinking about an 18" barrel with Remchokes. Can a competent smith thread the barrel for Remchokes? If so, how much should you expect to pay?
