Got it out and ran it through it's paces yesterday. I tried the 7+1+1 setup with 00 buck and #6 bird and it ate everything as fast as you'd pull the trigger..

Slug hits offhand at 100 yards were a breeze with standard Winchester 1oz rifled slugs.

It's hard to think of replacing my 870s with a semiauto for my primary fighting shotgun but damn the M4/1014 is one bad boom stick...

The next owner of my M1014 will probably say the same thing. I won't miss it too much.

7+1+1?

7 rounds (2 3/4") in the magazine tube (requires +2 extension)
1 round in the chamber
1 round on the shell elevator

7+1+1

Bully! I'm guessing this is a unique trick for the M4, as I can't figure out how to make my M1 do it. I too ran a bunch of rounds through my Benelli yesterday, and I was quite pleased with the results. After shooting a Mossy 590 and Remington 870 for so long, I was sure shoguns and I weren't a good mix. This thing has me thinking otherwise. It's a hoot!

The extra shell on the carrier trick works on the Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun as well...not exactly a new concept, but an interesting one nonetheless.

The older Benellis were like that, and new ones can be modified to do it. I am thinking about sending my bolt in to have it done.

Yeah, but can you bump-fire it?

I paid $1575 + sales tax for my limited edition M1014.

All you need to do is fill in a small grove on the bolt.

I did that with mine, used some sand paper to rough up the area then filled it in with JB weld and smoothed it over with a dremel.

Does anyone have experience with the M4 and Sidearmors front rail system for a flashlight..?
