I have a set of NYX-7 SD goggles from armasight.  I am wondering if anybody knows what type of tube is used in them and if they are the same as in a standard set of pvs-7's.  thanks

i think that on that type of goggle (that housing) , its not easy to tell without taking out the tube and looking at it , reason is that they can use a pvs7 type tube or some models can use a russian tube that is a little shorter and uses a different outpot window. i am saying this after googling the nyx-7 sd , and i also got 2 types - one seems to be a newer style housing and the other an older type that has been around for a while , can you post a picture of it ?

i think the only way to be sure , is to ask the people you are going to buy it off - or if you allready have it then to look into it to check the tube type .
the one in the link looks long bodied enough to take the pvs7 tube  but its difficult to be sure from stock pictures

If I open it do I have to have it nitrogen purged again?    I saw several different posts about purging the unit.

From the specs (or lack of) and the price I can say with some certainty it is a Russian Gen 2 tube. As far as purging ? I would not concern myself with it unless you have a internal fogging issue.

So I took my tube out to look at it.   Here are a couple of pics.  I believe it is a Russian tube, is it able to be replaced by a pvs-7 style tube??

Well that's a bummer that I can't upgrade the tube, but I guess in the flip side when I want to upgrade I get to buy a second set of goggles!
Thanks for all the help

There are higher quality Russian tubes too, so you are not totally optionless. Though I probably would not recommend that route, would not be economical either I guess compared to used Gen3 PVS-7
