ArmaLite AR-47A4 in caliber 7.62X39, able to use pre-ban "AK" mag's, forward assist, etc.,

A real ArmaLite rifle built for the 7.62X39 cartridge - whatta youse think ??

(I know Knight's has a prototype out but if produced we're going to be looking at round numbers $4,000 - $4500 and that's if they release any to civilians before the year 2010.)

themao is down with that s$#!

Armalite builds great stuff, and I'm confident that they could make a product equal if not better than Knight's. I'd buy it if it's around $1500 or so, and I can attach the ARMS 45 S.I.R. or something similar to it. It MUST reliably feed Wolf or similiar Russian ammo, cause otherwise it would defeat the entire purpose of such a system. Should be equal if not better in terms of reliability to the M-16A2 rifle. In all honestly, you guys may want to look at a gas-piston design like the AR-18 vs. the AR-15's.

(First I need to mention I'm 'not' an employee of ArmaLite.)

I really missed on my price guess for the Knights SR-47.
There is a guy on Sturmgewehr.com taking orders for the SR-47 at $4500 - prices subject to change !

I've got to believe ArmaLite could do better for much less - heck, I'd accept just as good and a lot less money !

for $4500 I could buy alot of ak47 type of rifles. the rifle looks very nice and looks to have some great features but that's alot of money. I could get a nice belgium fal,a good pre-ban ak and a decent pre-ban ar15 with ammo and mags for that kind of money. but it does look neat!

jc121,
that's the price for the 'Knights' rifle.

We're betting ArmaLite could come in with just as good a rifle but for less money.

I'd be interested if it came in under $2k.

I would be interested in a Armalite 7.62x39 if it were a grand or less. But not until I have a working Armalite AR-180.

Edited because I need to learn to read.

If they built it I would buy it.

I M down for one...build it...

Mr. P is right. I'd take a 7.62x39 AR type rifle that uses AK mags but it would have to be under a grand.

For $4500 you could have a real M16 or AK47.

I would like one as well, but the price would need to come down to at least a $1000. I would pay no more than that and something tells me that it will never happen for that price.

That's the area of pricing that might be feasible - around $2K - about the difference in the AR-10(T) and the SR-25 ? (Depending on model of SR-25.)

This is what I got back from Knight's:

"GET IN LINE THE COST $3000 WITH A $500 DEPOSIT AND SIGNED FFL"

I asked for specs, etc., and they didn't give me crap. If I had a salary (I'm a college student) and I collected, I'd probably get it. But for that amount of money, I can get a preban AR with enough preban GI mags to last me 500 years.
