I HATE loading Garand clips and am thinking of buying a case of the Greek M2 Ball in clips from CMP. Has anyone here used any of it? If so, how'd it shoot?
Thanks,
Paul

I've shot it, good stuff.  Grouped about 3" in my CMP rack grade M1 at 100 yards - probably better ammo than that, but my racker + myself are the limiting factors.  It is slightly more accurate than LC 69 in my rifle.  When they offer more on clips on the Estore (are they already?) I'll probably buy more.

Yes they have it listed in the e-store It's listed under "commercial" ammo. 768 rounds in bandoleers/clips in 4 spam cans for $168 +S&H
They also have 480 rounds in boxes in 2 spam cans for $100

I see the clipped ammo is now 26.8c/round clipped vs 24.4c/round for boxed... I might stick to loading the clips myself - a few months ago the clipped ammo was the same price as the boxed.  Heck I'm sure in a couple years both will seem like a heck of a deal!

Unfortunately, since I live in Alabama I have to add 8% sales tax on my CMP purchasesPaul

I need to renew my membership with the GCA and buy some of this stuff.  I'm down to less than half a can of the danish I had stocked up.

I take that to mean you like the Danish ammo?

The Danish (AMA headstamp IIRC) was great stuff.  Too bad it's gone as surplus!!

The greek ammo burns clean. Shoots sub 2 inch groups at 100 yards through my 03a3. Shoots right at 2.5 inches through my FG M1.

Also this year CMP will use it for Camp Perry compition.

So I say it's must be good enough and besides the price is right.

It's been pretty good stuff.  I have some Greek 8mm made in 1940 that works great in my Mausers.

Hey they charge sales tax in NY too on the purchases and then just in case you didn't thye have a line on your income tax form where you take your gross income, go to a table and add in some more "sales tax" just incase you got something out of state and didn't pay any.

Is the Greek ammo boxer primed?  I'm looking hard at getting a case of it.

Yeah, I got the notion to actually look at the CMP site and found it there in plain text.  Sorry I didn't update here.

FYI, a vendor at the funshow last weekend was selling the boxed Greek spamcans for $120 EACH-just the can, not the crate...  Gotta love capitalism, and uninformed people who help guys like this out.
