I was on Missouri Bullets site the other day ordering some .45acp lead bullets for my reloads and I noticed that they had several lead rifle bullets (.308) that they said worked great in the M1A.  Anyone run lead bullets down their barrel?  If so, what kind of velocities can you get from them? Do you have to gas check the bullets?

Any info/advice would be great!

Thanks

Yep, no problem.  Gas check for sure.

Don't have load/velocity data in front of me.  Objective was to simply cycle reliably.   They do!

I may have to try some of them out....

I miss the days when you could get a 1000 rounds of pull out bullets for a song.....

If cycling isn't a concern, use "The Load". ~165gr bullets should be about 1600fps.

I've used "The Load" (which involves Alliant 2400).  I have also shot reduced loads (low 30's grs) IMR4895 and those did cycle.
