A buddy gave me about 500rds of Chinese "61 over 92" 7.62x51. I've searched and found that accuracy is not all that bad with this stuff, but the votes are split as to if it's corrosive or not. I would treat it as such anyway, but never liked to shoot corrosive stuff from a semi. Is this range worthy or should I pull it down and use the bullets and powder?

It's probably corrosive, but good ammo.

Nope, personally I won't . I have other non - possibly - corrosive ammo. Just my 2 cents.

I have shot about 1500 rounds of the copper washed stuff through my Polytech M14s. Never had a problem or noticed any corrosion. Not super acurate but went band everytime. I think I may have 2 or 3 hundred rounds left.

Norinco made some copperwash that was boxed commercially and was not corrosive. I bought some in the late 80's or early 90's in 7.62x39. Back when an SKS was about $80 too Good stuff. This is bulk packed in a spam can wrpped in brown paper inside. Pretty sure this is corrosive.Anyone know what this stuff would go for selling now? I might have to unload it if I don't pull it down. The only 7.62 nato I have is an M1A.

Just shoot it and clean the rifle afterwards...simple enough.

I have a bunch of old 1990's Norinco .308 steel-cased which runs great in my rifles....non-corrosive too.

Anything else I would likely consider corrosive...

They used to import a lot of 5.56 also. I shot it off a lot. The 7.62x51 is the same. Non-corrosive stuff.

Like others said not super accurate but decent ammo.
