I just ordered a Tommy Gun to add to my arsenal, and I suppose I better start gathering up components when I find them in stock.

I'm curious what everyone uses for components? HP, FMJ, Plated, Lead, Jacketed? I understand that it's recommended to only use 230gr FMJ rounds, but I'm curious if anyone has had success with any other bullet type/weight.

Powders? I have some W231 on hand, & I'd like to use it if it'll be decent. Anyone have experience with W231 in a Tommy Gun?

I had the pleasure of shootig one about a month ago, I was using my reloads 200gr. Moussouri cast bullets and 200gr. Semi wad cutters. It ate everything
I was using 5.7 gr. or 231

I had a commando arms one back in the 90's shot lead swc with no issues. I would assume the one your getting will work fine with what ever you put through it.

Not a Tommygun but I shoot 230 gr. fmj and cast lead, round nose, round flat nose, truncated cone, Keith style swc, through my Ply Arms AR upper out of Greasegun mags.

So I'll bet you can find a cast bullet your gun will feed and shoot.

Oh, I use Unique. I like it because I can stock one powder for my 4 centerfire pistol cartridges.
