For the $$, the ATI (Korean) mags are great.

Here

The 4th gen mags worked only in one of my 2 guns, the 3rd gen work in both... Buyer beware.

Try Armorman on GB:

$50/each - I purchased some from them a few months ago, and they said they had an entire case available. I purchased 10 from them :) All HK factory.

Mine run like a champ in my CA89 SBR. Never had an issue.

The first PCS clone I had, seller included 1 Korean mag and it ran like garbage... used factory HK and had no issues. Why waste $$$ on hit-or-miss mags? Factory HK all the way, havent' had an issue yet!

HK mags. The only way to go. I get mine from Centermass Firearms here in Vegas. Jerry Pressor at Reconord.com should still have them for sale used. YMMV,Ronnie

The Korean ATI mags can run pretty well. And are cheap. DJF makes some good mags, but not sure what the availability is now. Check on HKPro. The MKE mags (metal ones) are pretty good too. No problems with them at all.

Those seem to be good mags, but at the price HKParts.net is charging, might as well pay $10 more for NIW factory HK mags from CDNN.

ETA:  Are the MKE mags available elsewhere for cheaper?

Gen4 doesn't work in MKE IIRC, but did work in the SW5

I had to replace all the springs to get them to run with fmj, They will not run with anything flat nose.

The MKE mags would be the way to go for HD if you want to save some coin. For range use, the ATI mags are cheap enough to test a few. All the ATI mags I have worked 100% in my MKE-PDW.

Don't go for the 40 round korean mags, they are junk.  Came out maybe 10 or so years ago.  HK straight "stick" mags can be found from time to time around 20 bucks.  Check fun shows and you'll eventually find a bubba that doesn't know what he has.  Found HK curved for 35 bucks once.

Not counting recent craziness, I can reliably find excellent condition H&K mags for around $50 for the last couple years.    Last time I seriously looked two years ago, they could be bought for $40 or less.

I agree. I've found the KCI to be hit or miss, got two in a trade, one ran ok in my N, but wouldn't in my vector. The other didn't run in either.

I realized a while ago that I got lucky. I have an MKE and 2 Bobcat guns (albeit with full HK internals) that have never choked on any mag other than a factory HK curved 30 I had with a cracked feed lip. Heck, I even have some of the SW mags that never miss a beat. That said for "real use" I only trust HK curved or steel MKE. I keep meaning to pick up some of the Turkish plastic sticks but never get around to it. I'd also like to try some of the DJF sticks but haven't actually seen them for sale.

I have one MKE and 5 Korean mags. The MKE and 4 of the Korean mags run great. The other Korean craps ammo into the receiver when the gun cycles, jamming up the works. I might try replacing the spring with an HK.

I have only one MP5-type weapon, a DJF clone.  It came with one of his mags, which works.  The bolt rubs the feed lips a bit on that one.  I just got some of the latest gen ATI mags, and they're literally unusable in my gun.  The bolt is hitting the feed lips so bad that you can't even lock the mags in with the bolt closed (I know that you're not supposed to reload with the bolt closed, but I'm talking empty mags here).  The ATI mags lock in TIGHT with the bolt open, then the bolt tries to occupy the same space as the feed lips on the mags, so I doubt these will even cycle.  Is it the mags?  I don't know because I don't have any real HK mags to try yet, but I have a couple on the way.  So when they get here, I'll try them and then I'll know if I'm dealing with 100% crap mags, or possibly an out of spec gun.
