Just curious. I typically take about 1.5 to double what I really expect to shoot.

i usually take about 1000 for my AK. about 10k for my .22lr and 500 for each other weapon i bring.
Link Posted: 5/7/2005 9:59:21 PM EDT
Average would be around 500.
Link Posted: 5/7/2005 10:15:09 PM EDT
public range usually 600-700.

my farm 2-3k.

If I take more than I want to shoot then I end up shooting it.
Then I have no ammo and need to go buy more. Then I have no money.
Having no money sucks.

I shoot at our cabin so I usually bring up a case of 1000 in the calibres I want to shoot.

Any I don't use goes into the the ammo horde.

At indoor ranges, I usually only bring around 300 rounds. After that, my skills seem to drop off aand I wind up just wasting ammo.

500-1000 per weapon that I bring. I'd rather bring some home than wish I'd brought more!!

A full case, if I don't shoot them all, I just add to it for next time. (Ammo is loose packed in can)

500 to 1000 rounds usually

My first time at a range (Buffalo Range for you IL guys) I brought 700rds of .308, 900rds of .223, 450rds of .40S&W, and 1000rds of 7.62x39. I left with 400rds of .308, 80rds of .223, 300rds of .40S&W, and 500rds of 7.62x39...............This was my first time there (I shoot at our farm all the time) but I found that shooting at Buffalo is always going to be pricey for me.......that's why I'm only gonna go every couple months.

5.56x45) 700-1,000...............More if I bring more than 1 AR

7.62x51) 20 M14 magazines and another 500 loose

7.62x39) 1,000 if I bring more than 1 AK

I voted (<50) based on how much I actually shoot. The ammo is always in the trunk (500-1500).

I've been doing a lot of slow shooting and "I'm spent" after 40 rounds or so in an hour, hour and a half.

You can bring loaded ammo back home with you?? And it will still work next time? Interesting concept... I might have to try that sometime

Usually 100-200 rounds, but I go several times per week.
Link Posted: 5/9/2005 6:31:29 PM EDT

Depends what I'm doing. Drills...100 - 200 rounds...shooting a bunch of stuff real quickly 500 +

I always have at least 1 mag left fully loaded for when I return...what's the point of a weapon if you have no ammo.

M44 - 60 rds
SKS - 200 rds
M1911 - 100 rds

300 - 350 average

My last trip out I took 100 rounds for the shotgun (skeet) 100 rounds for each handgun and 500 for the AR

I guess it depends on how much time you have to spend and if you're training or just spraying.
Link Posted: 5/24/2005 11:10:20 AM EDT
I would say 500, but I rarely shoot it all each trip. I probably actually shoot closer to 300-350.
