Any aftermarket ambi mag releases out there? I'm envisioning something you push with your trigger finger. If not, I'll make one.

I will try and get to it this weekend. Couple other projects on the burner and I don't want to simply modify an existing part.

Israel had a rounded extended one specified for their rifles, that could be engaged by the trigger finger..it pushed out a bit more and was serrated. It looked like a 1911 commander hammer was turned into the mag catch. You should be able to find one for not very expensive and drop it in..

i imagine making one wouldnt be too difficult but wouldnt you need trigger fingers of steel to operate it? my mags require a good yanking anyway, do your actually drop free?

The ones with very thin finish almost drop free, doing the "magpul twist" will eject them. Neither of my rifles take much force to disengage the magazine release, I don't have trouble doing it with my trigger finger contorted around the trigger guard.

All I want is to be able to disengage the magazine release with my right hand. If I still have to pull magazines free, that's fine, it's just one less thing to do with my thumb and I believe it makes bringing a loaded mag up, stripping the old one and inserting with 1 movement possible, instead of stripping the old mag with the thumb activated release and then going back to your pouch or pocket for another loaded magazine.

The inch pattern mag releases kinda solve this IMHO.
